2008 in Pictures

Here are pictures from most of the shares in 2008, with the later shares at the top of the 'list'. Check earlier posts for specific descriptions. Each week throughout the growing season I try to post both an estimate of what the share will include that week and a picture and list of what it actually included. I will be using the same system in 2009.

How gorgeous!! I'm particularly drooling over all the berries and the fresh shelling beans.

Oh, for the record, those extra intense apples I mentioned awhile back? Sierra Beauties. According to my, ahem, extensive internet research they're one of only a few apples indigenous to Calidornia and a highly recommended pie apple.
See here and here.

Wow, you mean somebody actually reads my blog?!

I love growing and eating shell beans. I plan on growing lots more this year and in the future. Also lots of snap beans, especially heirloom pole beans. Yummy and easy to pick too. Oh yes, and soybeans and cowpeas.....I really better finish my seed order!!

Yesterday I decided that this is the year I am getting black currants. Just can't wait any longer.

Thanks for the apple name. I checked on it and unfortunately it isn't hardy in zone 5. Too bad.

Happy late winter/early spring!
